What is a Global Science Community (GSC) and how to become part of it? These and many other important questions about MAGIC’s GSC will be answered next May, in Africa, during the IST-Africa2016 Conference.
The event, to be held between May 11th – 13th, 2016, in Durban, South Africa, will count on the participation of representatives of the MAGIC Project Partners, UbuntuNet Alliance and RedCLARA, who will lead the workshop “Global Science Communities - That’s MAGIC!” on the second day of the conference, May 12, at 4pm.
Over the past few months, the MAGIC project has been working on establishing Global Science Communities, a thematic collaborative forum for researchers and academics with common interests. Four GSC have been established in e-Health, Biodiversity, Environment and Remote Instrumentation, each led by a thematic leader, also known within the project as champion.
This activity will present an opportunity to share the experience of establishing the GSC, the challenges of the work of the researchers and academics and the possibilities offered by the tools available in the on-line collaborative platform, Colaboratorio.
